Gwangju City Councilors Jo Seok-ho and Jeong Mu-chang Receive 'Outstanding Legislative Award'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Metropolitan Council members Jo Seok-ho and Jeong Mu-chang have been named recipients of the '10th Excellent Legislative Award' hosted by the Korea Association of City and Provincial Council Chairpersons.
According to the Gwangju City Council on the 2nd, the award ceremony for the 'Excellent Legislative Award' for Vice Chairman Jo Seok-ho and Operations Committee Chairman Jeong Mu-chang was held that day at the council's Open Citizens Hall.
The Excellent Legislative Award was established in 2014 to discover and promote outstanding legislative activities carried out by city and provincial council members nationwide, aiming to enhance legislative capabilities.
It is awarded annually to council members who have contributed to the development of local councils and the improvement of residents' quality of life.
Councilor Jo, as the Vice Chairman in the latter half of the 8th council, has led faithful monitoring, checks, and proposals of alternatives regarding various city administration issues based on his rich legislative experience.
In particular, he made efforts to reflect the voices from the field into policies by actively communicating with Gwangju citizens to promote welfare and improve quality of life.
Councilor Jeong, as the Operations Committee Chairman in the latter half of the 8th council, fostered harmony among council members through active communication.
He carried out vigorous legislative activities to consider marginalized groups in the region, promote educational development and improve educational environments, and engaged in field-centered legislative activities of listening and communication for nurturing future talents and promoting culture, tourism, and sports.
