Geochang Regional Self-Sufficiency Center Selected as 'Nationwide Best Institution'
High Performance Demonstrated in Self-Sufficiency and Business Group Management by Participants in Self-Support Projects
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, achieved the great feat of Geochang Regional Self-Support Center being selected as the best rural-type institution nationwide in the 2019-2020 national regional self-support center performance evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
This evaluation was conducted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare by classifying 237 regional self-support centers nationwide by type and evaluating them based on indicators such as self-support achievements of participants in self-support projects, business group operation performance, center operation performance, and linkage with external resources.
Geochang Regional Self-Support Center achieved high scores in all indicators and was selected as the best rural-type institution nationwide.
As a result of being selected as the best institution this time, incentives will be supported by the Ministry of Health and Welfare in the future.
The additional project funds will be used for program development to promote the independence and self-support of low-income groups and for revitalizing self-support projects.
Gu In-mo, the mayor of Geochang-gun, said, “We will continue to carry out various projects to discover new jobs suitable for our county’s circumstances and to revitalize self-support projects so that low-income residents can continue their dreams of independence through self-support projects.”
