Gwangyang City to Provide 250,000 Won as Second Disaster Relief Fund
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seon-sik] Gwangyang City, Jeollanam-do announced on the 2nd that it will provide emergency disaster living expenses of 250,000 KRW to all citizens to overcome the difficult economic situation caused by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
On the 30th of last month, Gwangyang City held a Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters meeting to discuss the scale of support and payment methods.
The city decided, in consultation with the Gwangyang City Council on the same day, to provide emergency disaster living expenses amounting to 37.9 billion KRW.
The related budget will be approved at the Gwangyang City Council's extraordinary session scheduled for the 23rd, and payments are planned to begin in August.
The disaster living expenses will be provided in the form of Gwangyang Love Gift Certificates.
The payment targets are Gwangyang citizens residing in Gwangyang City from June 30 until the application date, including marriage immigrants and permanent residents registered as foreigners.

Last year, Gwangyang City was the first in Jeollanam-do to provide emergency disaster living expenses of 200,000 KRW per person to all citizens.
