View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Jo Gang-wook] On the 2nd, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Noh Hyung-wook visited the CJ Logistics Yongsan Subterminal at Seoul Station to inspect the parcel loading/unloading and sorting work sites.
According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, after observing the parcel loading/unloading work site where automatic sorters and sorting personnel were deployed, Minister Noh said, "We will strengthen legal and institutional support to thoroughly protect parcel delivery workers exposed to long working hours in the rapidly growing parcel industry."
He also urged the parcel delivery industry to faithfully implement the social agreement established on the 22nd of last month to prevent overwork of parcel delivery workers, and stated that the government will continuously monitor and manage the implementation status.
Minister Noh added, "The parcel industry has become an indispensable service for all citizens in the contactless society that has become widespread after the COVID-19 pandemic," and emphasized, "To provide better services in the post-COVID-19 era, we will spare no support for the development of innovative logistics technologies and the expansion of urban logistics infrastructure."
