'I am a Tenant' Yoon Hee-sook, Running for People Power Party Presidential Primary... "Let's Drive Out Hypocrites"
[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] Rep. Yoon Hee-sook has expressed her intention to run in the People Power Party presidential primary.
On the 2nd, Rep. Yoon held a press conference at the National Assembly Communication Office to announce her presidential bid, stating, "This election must end the 'you die, I live' style of politics and restore the essence of democracy," and added, "It must be an election that drives hypocrites who only talk about coexistence while dividing people out of history."
As a first-term lawmaker and economist, she gained attention last July with her National Assembly speech starting with "I am a tenant." Rep. Yoon emphasized, "In this uncertain era where no one knows which country will decline or leap forward due to the Fourth Industrial Revolution, we must abolish all regulations that exist only in our country but not in competing nations. We must wholeheartedly and vigorously reform to unblock the clogged lifeblood of the Korean economy to survive."
Regarding youth issues, Rep. Yoon diagnosed, "The life that was once taken for granted?saving salary to buy a home, educating children, and preparing for retirement?is no longer guaranteed. There is no opportunity to leap forward, so the gap between gold spoons and dirt spoons cannot be closed. This is the vulnerable spot and thorn of our era."
