FocusHNS passes preliminary merger review with Eugene SPAC 5... "Entering KOSDAQ in the second half of this year"
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Focus HNS announced on the 2nd that it passed the preliminary review for the merger listing with Yujin SPAC 5 as a result of the preliminary examination by the Korea Exchange KOSDAQ Market Headquarters on the 1st.
Established in 2012, Focus HNS (CEO Kim Daejung) is an AI surveillance system integrated solution company covering HW, SW, and AI. Its main business areas are ▲video surveillance ▲parking control ▲mobility ▲IoT. To provide AI surveillance solutions, AI cameras, video storage devices (DVR, NVR), composite sensors, UVMS (intelligent security server), monitoring systems, and AI algorithm technology are required.
Focus HNS has independently developed the essential core technologies needed for this. While many companies have provided each technology individually, it is rare in the industry to offer solutions from start to finish. Through total solutions, it is possible to provide customized solutions tailored to customers' situations, expanding business into various sectors such as enterprises, public facilities, and homes.
Unlike other companies that require separate servers to integrate AI technology, Focus HNS maximized data storage capacity and transmission processing speed by embedding AI, algorithms, and sensors directly into the cameras. This has attracted market attention due to advantages such as easy installation and cost reduction.
The company was recognized for its outstanding technology by being selected as the top partner of ADT Caps, the second-largest security company in Korea. It succeeded in developing the world's first analog Full HD product and has supplied high-resolution cameras, video storage devices, and other AI surveillance solutions to ADT Caps for seven years since 2015, jointly participating in various development projects.
The differentiated technology is also reflected in its performance. In 2020, sales and operating profit were 32.8 billion KRW and 2.3 billion KRW respectively, with a sales growth rate of 24.74% from 2018 to 2020. As smart parking solutions and mobility service platforms are fully launched, sales growth is expected to accelerate further.
Focus HNS plans to focus on smart parking solutions and mobility service platforms through its KOSDAQ listing. Existing parking solutions only provided simple functions such as payment and parking space confirmation. In contrast, the company’s smart parking solution allows customers to easily use functions such as real-time parking space search near their destination, automatic payment, vehicle safety management, and vehicle location finding using only their mobile phones.
Going forward, the company plans to secure a leading position in the rapidly growing smart parking solution market through collaboration with major domestic telecommunications companies.
The mobility service platform is a next-generation solution that can effectively manage and monitor industrial and special-purpose vehicles. It has already been pilot-applied to fire centers and railroads, establishing successful references, and based on this, it is scheduled to expand into various sectors such as construction, rental cars, and large buses starting this year.
Kim Daejung, CEO of Focus HNS, stated, “With this KOSDAQ listing as an opportunity, we will expand the application areas of video security and diversify AI-based smart solution businesses,” adding, “We will become a specialized AI total platform company by expanding sales of high-profit products and entering new businesses.”
Meanwhile, the listing sponsor is Yujin Investment & Securities. The company plans to proceed with the merger listing process with Yujin SPAC 5 aiming for a listing in the second half of this year.
