On the 1st, the special prosecutor announced that on the 28th of last month, they conducted a search and seizure at the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries' Sewol Follow-up Measures Promotion Team and Operations Support Division to seize reports, meeting minutes, and notebooks related to the Sewol DVR (CCTV video storage device).
The special prosecutor is reported to have summoned public officials who recovered personal belongings after the Sewol salvage to investigate whether they saw any signs of the DVR's wiring being cut or the device being replaced. Additionally, they conducted searches and seizures at the Supreme Prosecutors' Office, the Navy, and the Coast Guard, seizing about 30 boxes of documents and over 100TB of electronic data, which are currently under review.
