France Implements COVID-19 Testing Fees for Foreign Tourists After One Month
[Asia Economy Reporter Seulgina Jo] France has decided to charge foreign tourists for COVID-19 tests again.
According to The Local France on the 1st (local time), starting from July 7, foreign tourists and visitors to France will have to pay for COVID-19 tests. The polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test costs 49 euros (about 65,000 won), and the antigen test costs 29 euros (about 38,000 won).
Previously, France reopened its borders to foreign tourists from June 9 and decided not to charge for COVID-19 tests to promote tourism.

Gabriel Attal, government spokesperson, explained in an interview with the economic newspaper Les Echos the day before, "French people traveling abroad mostly have to pay for COVID-19 tests in other countries. This is a matter of reciprocity."
