According to the county, Governor Choi held a regular meeting with only senior officials attending and other public officials watching via video to prevent the spread of COVID-19, reflecting on the major achievements of the county administration over the past three years and sharing the future direction of county governance.
Governor Choi Hyung-sik expressed gratitude, saying, “Thanks to the wisdom gathered by 50,000 residents and all public officials, we were able to carry out county administration stably last year through efforts to prevent COVID-19 and overcome unprecedented heavy rain damage.”
He also urged, “Based on Damyang’s history, culture, arts, and ecological resources preserved over a thousand years of its name, please focus all your passion and capabilities on creating a sustainable development foundation that pioneers the history of ‘Life, Inclusion, and Future Damyang.’”

Meanwhile, instead of the Damyang Residents’ Day, which was canceled due to COVID-19, the 42nd Damyang Residents’ Award ceremony was held, along with the presentation of awards to winners of the 2nd Beautiful Garden Contest and appreciation plaques to contributors to county development.
