Park Beom-gye: "I am confident that the mid-level prosecutor personnel appointments were objective and fair"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daehyun] Regarding the recently conducted mid-level prosecutor personnel reshuffle, Minister of Justice Park Beom-gye stated, "I take pride in having aimed for objective and fair personnel decisions by considering more factors than in the past."
On the 1st, Minister Park made these remarks during the 'High Prosecutor-Level Prosecutor Transfer Reporting Ceremony' held at 2 PM in the main auditorium of the Ministry of Justice Gwacheon Government Complex. About 160 prosecutors transferring from the Ministry of Justice, Supreme Prosecutors' Office, Finance and Economy Office, and the Seoul Metropolitan Prosecutors' Office to local offices attended the ceremony.
He said, "We will consider various factors such as excellent information reports from frontline prosecution offices more broadly in future personnel decisions to ensure objective and fair appointments," and emphasized, "when prosecutors deeply embrace the value of human rights and faithfully fulfill their roles as judicial controllers and human rights protectors, they can be properly evaluated and recognized by the public."
He added, "When the public acknowledges the tireless efforts of frontline prosecutors for the people, the prosecution, which gathers outstanding talents, can establish itself as a central institution of the Republic of Korea," and urged, "I hope you will fulfill your roles as mid-level executives in your new posts."

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Justice plans to hold a 'High Prosecutor-Level Prosecutor Transfer Reporting Ceremony' at 10 AM on the 2nd for about 190 prosecutors transferring from local offices to the Finance and Economy Office and the Seoul Metropolitan Prosecutors' Office.
