The National Assembly Adopts Resolution Demanding Removal of Dokdo as Japanese Territory in Tokyo Olympics

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Park Cheol-eung] The National Assembly adopted a resolution condemning the Tokyo Olympic Organizing Committee for depicting Dokdo as Japanese territory and demanded its immediate removal.
The National Assembly stated in the resolution that this act "violates the territorial sovereignty of the Republic of Korea and goes against the Olympic spirit of separating politics and sports."
It further declared, "We strongly condemn the Tokyo Olympic Organizing Committee for marking Dokdo as its own territory on the official website's torch relay route map and sternly demand its immediate deletion."
Regarding the International Olympic Committee, it urged, "Based on the Olympic spirit of contributing to world peace through sports and separating politics from sports, we strongly call for a ban on Japan's depiction of Dokdo."
