"I am a Tenant" First-Term Yoon Hee-sook to Announce Presidential Bid Tomorrow
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Yoon Hee-sook, a member of the People Power Party, is entering the race for the next presidential election.
Yoon's office stated in a phone call on the 1st, "She plans to declare her candidacy for the presidential election at a press conference in the National Assembly at 10 a.m. on the 2nd."
Yoon, a former member of the Korea Development Institute (KDI), is known within the party as a leading 'economic expert.' She gained recognition last July with a five-minute speech in the National Assembly starting with "I am a tenant." However, in reality, Yoon owns one apartment in Seoul and rented a jeonse in her constituency Seocho-gap to run in the general election.
