K Bank Reaches 6.19 Million Customers... Record Growth in Q2
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Internet-only bank K-Bank recorded its largest growth ever in the second quarter, with the number of customers increasing by 2.28 million.
According to K-Bank on the 1st, the cumulative number of customers at the end of June was 6.19 million, up 2.28 million from 3.91 million at the end of March.
During the same period, loan balances exceeded 5 trillion won, reaching 5.09 trillion won. This represents a quarterly increase of 1.26 trillion won, the highest ever. Deposits increased by 2.57 trillion won in the second quarter, reaching 11.29 trillion won as of the end of June.
This growth trend is attributed to the popularity of virtual currency and flagship products such as the 100% non-face-to-face 'Apartment Mortgage Loan' and the 'Code K Time Deposit,' which offers the highest interest rate without any conditions.
In particular, despite subscription restrictions for stable operation, the Apartment Mortgage Loan exceeded 500 billion won in the first quarter of this year and reached 700 billion won as of the end of June.
