Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education Launches 6th Resident Participatory Budget Committee
50 Personnel Committee Members Participate, Begin 2-Year Term Activities
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] On the 1st, the Jeollanam-do Office of Education held the '6th Jeollanam-do Office of Education Resident Participation Budget Committee Member Appointment Ceremony and 1st Meeting' in the large conference room on the 2nd floor of the government building, attended by 50 resident participation budget committee members.
The resident participation budget committee members who received appointment letters that day were selected through a public recruitment process by 22 cities and counties last May. During their two-year term, they will play a role in collecting and consolidating residents' opinions and presenting suggestions on budget formulation directions.
After the appointment letter ceremony of the 6th Resident Participation Budget Committee, officers were elected, subcommittees were formed, and a capacity-building training session was held.
Superintendent Jang Seok-ung said, "I expect the Resident Participation Budget Committee to play a pivotal role in realizing educational autonomy through communication and cooperation," and urged, "Please faithfully carry out your duties with the sense of mission to open a new future for Jeonnam education during your two-year term."

The Jeollanam-do Office of Education has been implementing the resident participation budget system since 2010 to realize fiscal democracy, actively collecting opinions from education consumers such as parents, faculty, and Jeonnam residents and reflecting them in budget formulation.
