[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] The COVID-19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team announced on the 1st that it held a Vaccination Expert Committee meeting on the 29th of last month and reviewed the recommended age for AstraZeneca (AZ) vaccine administration in light of cases of thrombocytopenic thrombosis syndrome (TTS) occurring after AZ vaccination.
According to the recommendation of the Vaccination Expert Committee following the review, from this month, AZ vaccine administration is recommended only for those aged 50 and above. Additionally, individuals under 50 who have already received the first dose of AZ will receive their second dose as a heterologous vaccination with the Pfizer vaccine starting from the 5th of this month.
