Health Authorities Conducting In-Depth Epidemiological Investigation
[Asia Economy Reporter La Young-cheol] Yangju City in Gyeonggi Province will conduct a complete investigation of all students and staff involved on the 2nd and 8th in relation to the COVID-19 cluster infection outbreak at Okjeong High School within the city.
On the 1st, the city stated, "This is to find hidden confirmed cases who may test positive late during self-quarantine and to block the chain (n-th) infection spreading to the local community."
Previously, on the 28th of last month, after two students and one teacher at Okjeong High School tested positive for COVID-19, a total of 26 people including 24 students, one teacher, and one staff member were confirmed positive over two days.
Students, teachers, and staff who tested negative are currently in self-quarantine, and the city health authorities are conducting in-depth epidemiological investigations while planning to expand complete testing by identifying close contacts related to the cases.
Furthermore, with the new social distancing measures about to be implemented and the rapid increase of confirmed cases centered in the metropolitan area, the current distancing system will be maintained for one week, and citizens are urged to comply with quarantine rules.
