[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] Samsung Electronics announced on the 1st that the 'Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G' was selected as the 'Best Smartphone' at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2021.
The Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA) holds the 'Global Mobile Awards' annually during MWC. It selects and announces the best products in all areas of mobile, including innovation, hardware, software, and services.
The Best Smartphone award this time is selected based on a comprehensive evaluation of performance, design, innovation, ease of use, user experience, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
In this evaluation, the judges explained the reason for awarding the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G as the 'best Samsung smartphone ever' equipped with various features such as an amazing AMOLED display and best-in-class camera.
The Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G is a product that encompasses mobile innovation technologies, featuring a display and a camera enhanced with artificial intelligence (AI) technology. It is the first in the Galaxy S series to support the 'S Pen.' The 'Contour Cut' design, which seamlessly connects the smartphone body, metal frame, and rear camera to provide a sense of unity, was also applied.
The final nominees for the Best Smartphone category included the 'Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G' along with the 'Galaxy S20 FE.' The Galaxy S20 FE features a smooth display with a 120Hz refresh rate and an AI-based camera.
