Sejong 'Jeondong General Industrial Complex' Construction to Begin Next Month... Establishing Northern Industrial Cluster
[Asia Economy (Sejong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Construction of the Sejong ‘Jeondong General Industrial Complex’ has entered the final countdown.
According to Sejong City on the 30th, Jeondong General Industrial Complex will be developed through public development on a 142,588㎡ site in Nojang-ri, Jeondong-myeon, consisting of industrial facilities (92,718㎡), residential facilities (38,118㎡), support facilities (3,088㎡), and public facilities (39,918㎡).
The project cost for the Jeondong General Industrial Complex development is approximately 55 billion KRW. The city completed the announcement of the industrial complex plan in October 2019 and proceeded with compensation procedures, which were completed last May.
Currently, asbestos removal work is underway on existing houses except for 2 out of a total of 30 households, and full-scale site development is scheduled to begin next month.
The city plans to attract companies to the industrial complex by 2023, focusing on main industries such as automobile and trailer manufacturing and other transportation equipment manufacturing.
Once the Jeondong General Industrial Complex is completed, it will enable the establishment of a northern regional industrial cluster linked with the nearby Nojang Agricultural and Industrial Complex and the Sejong Venture Valley Industrial Complex (under development), which is expected to contribute to job creation and revitalization of the local economy, the city anticipates.
