Geoje-si Expands Medical Expense Support for Low-Income Adult Cancer Patients
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Geoje City announced on the 29th that starting from the 1st of next month, it will change the criteria for medical expense support projects in accordance with the Ministry of Health and Welfare's revised notice on medical expense support standards for cancer patients.
With this revision, the annual support amount limit for adult cancer patients who are medical aid recipients and low-income health insurance subscribers eligible for reduced personal burden will be expanded from a maximum of 2.2 million KRW to 3 million KRW.
Among adult cancer patients diagnosed with cancer, those in the lower 50% income bracket for health insurance premiums will have new support discontinued from July 1st, considering the significant reduction in personal burden for cancer treatment through strengthened health insurance coverage and the existence of similar medical expense support programs.
