Seoul City Selects 'Excellent Seoul Stay' and Provides Up to 2 Million KRW Support
20 'Excellent Seoul Stay' Selected Among Registered Seoul Stay Accommodations
Benefits Provided Including Online and Offline Promotion, Training, and Supplies
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government and the Seoul Tourism Foundation announced on the 29th that they will select ‘Excellent Seoul Stay’ accommodations registered with Seoul Stay starting this year and provide support of up to 2 million KRW. The Seoul Metropolitan Government plans to support the tourism accommodation industry, which is facing a crisis due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, and provide a safe tourism accommodation environment in Seoul during the COVID era.
Applications for ‘Excellent Seoul Stay’ can be submitted via email from the 30th until August 16th. Eligible applicants are foreign tourist city lodging businesses and hanok experience businesses that have completed registration with Seoul Stay by the application deadline.
‘Excellent Seoul Stay’ will be finalized through a two-step evaluation process: first, document screening, followed by on-site evaluation. A total of 20 accommodations will be selected by combining the scores from both evaluations, and the final results will be announced on August 20th through the notice section of the Seoul Stay website.
Selected ‘Excellent Seoul Stay’ accommodations will receive various benefits, including a support fund of up to 2 million KRW, an Excellent Seoul Stay certificate, networking support, and promotional marketing using the official Seoul Stay SNS channels.

Joo Yong-tae, Director of the Tourism and Sports Bureau of Seoul, explained, “Since we selected Excellent Seoul Stay to support the alternative accommodation industry facing a crisis due to COVID-19 and to create a safe Seoul tourism environment, we will select accommodations based on strict criteria such as hygiene, safety, and service to enhance the service quality and capabilities of the accommodation industry.”
