Suncheon City Completes Training Course for City Bus Transportation Experts
All 21 Trainees Completed the Program, 10 Secured Early Employment
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Heo Seok) announced on the 28th that it held a completion ceremony for the ‘Suncheon-type Transportation Service Professional Workforce Training Project,’ promoted as part of the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s regional industry-customized job creation support project.
This city bus expert training course, which began on April 26, included all necessary training courses for bus workers such as job and safety education, service training, and traffic practice.
All 21 trainees completed the course, and 10 of them were employed early at Suncheon Transportation and Dongshin Transportation.
The city and the Suncheon Chamber of Commerce and Industry plan to actively support the remaining graduates to secure employment as well.
Last year, 28 out of 31 graduates were hired as city bus workers, achieving a 90% employment rate, and received an S grade evaluation from the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
This project is helping to resolve the severe manpower shortage faced by Suncheon city bus transportation companies due to the reduction of the weekly working hours to 52 hours.
