On the 28th, HiteJinro announced that it will provide 64,000 bottles of drinking water (Seoksu 500ml) to residents of five major jjokbangchon in Seoul with poor housing facilities in preparation for the forecasted heatwave this year. Some of these are supported in collaboration with HiteJinro Beverage.
HiteJinro held a Seoksu delivery ceremony for a "healthy summer" at the Jjokbang Counseling Center in Changsin-dong, Seoul, and delivered the water to all five jjokbangchon locations including Seoul Station and Yeongdeungpo. Additional support such as samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) and other health foods will be provided during the last heat period in August.
Since 2013, HiteJinro has signed a joint cooperation agreement with the Seoul Metropolitan Government on "cold wave and heatwave response and protection activities for vulnerable housing groups," and has been providing goods and relief services for nine years. In January, it supported 10,000 hot packs and 2,500 servings of rice cakes, and in March, 10,000 masks were provided. To ensure the health and safety of residents, HiteJinro plans to identify necessary items through continuous consultations with the Jjokbang Counseling Center and the Seoul Welfare Policy Office and provide additional support.
