Daesang Group Conducts Blood Donation Campaign 'Nationwide Participation Red Challenge'
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Daesang Group is conducting a nationwide blood donation campaign called ‘Nationwide Participation Red Challenge’ throughout July. This campaign, planned to stabilize blood supply, involves all Daesang Group companies including Daesang Corporation, Daesang Life Science, Chorokmaeul, and Daesang F&B. This is the second nationwide blood donation campaign following last year.
Since 2006, Daesang Group has annually conducted the 'Donate Blood Before Vacation' campaign with the Korean Red Cross, involving its employees. The blood donation certificates collected through the campaign are donated to children with leukemia and pediatric cancer via the Korea Leukemia Pediatric Cancer Association. To date, 4,932 blood donation certificates have been donated.
Starting last year, with the increased difficulty in blood supply due to COVID-19, the campaign shifted its focus from ‘Donate Blood Before Vacation’ to the ‘Nationwide Participation Red Challenge’ to encourage nationwide interest in blood donation. The campaign, previously limited to Daesang Group employees, has evolved into a nationwide blood donation campaign. With this expansion, the number of participants in Daesang Group’s blood donation campaign in July last year increased tenfold compared to the previous year.
Participation in Daesang Group’s ‘Nationwide Participation Red Challenge’ proceeds in two ways. First, if you directly participate in blood donation, you can post a photo of yourself donating blood or your blood donation certificate on your social networking service (SNS) with public visibility, then submit the SNS link on the Korean Red Cross Blood Management Headquarters website event board to enter. For the prize draw, related hashtags (#DaesangGroupTogether #BloodDonationCampaign #NationwideParticipation #RedChallenge) must be included.
You can also enter the challenge to promote the blood donation campaign. Post a certification shot containing a red heart image and the words ‘Red Challenge’ with a message encouraging blood donation on your SNS with public visibility, then submit the SNS link on Daesang Corporation’s website event board.
Daesang Group will select 300 participants who donated blood by lottery. Among them, 200 will receive a food box (worth approximately 50,000 KRW) consisting of products from Cheongjeongwon, Jongga Jip, Chorokmaeul, and Bogumjari, and 100 will receive health functional foods (worth approximately 50,000 KRW) from Daesang Life Science. Additionally, 100 challenge participants will be selected by lottery to receive a food box (worth approximately 50,000 KRW) consisting of products from Cheongjeongwon and Jongga Jip.

Lee Bora, head of Daesang’s Social Contribution Team, said, “To support patients and medical staff struggling with blood supply shortages due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation, we are expanding the group’s blood donation campaign into a nationwide campaign. We hope many people participate in this campaign to save lives and help establish a proper blood donation culture.”
