Wecook "No.1 Food and Dining Startup Solution is Menu Development"
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] The most needed skill for food and dining industry entrepreneurs was found to be menu development.
According to a survey conducted by Wecook from the 11th to the 18th of last month targeting 125 food and dining startup teams using the food manufacturing shared kitchen 'Wecook Factory', the number one solution desired by food and dining entrepreneurs was 'menu development (23%)'. This is interpreted as reflecting the consumption trends of the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z), which has recently been recognized as a key consumer group in the food industry.
According to Wecook, one respondent who chose menu development explained, "When I decided to start an F&B brand, I thought developing an irreplaceable menu different from other brands would be the greatest competitive advantage," adding, "I had ideas related to dining startups, but since I had no prior F&B startup experience, I was concerned about the process of commercializing ideas into menus."
The second most desired solution by food and dining entrepreneurs was 'online detailed page design (18%)'. Due to the impact of COVID-19, untact food consumption through delivery and e-commerce has increased, making the design of product sales pages that can captivate consumers' eyes and taste more important. In fact, according to Statistics Korea's 'Online Shopping Trends', food service transaction amounts in April increased by 56.5% compared to the same period last year. Transactions for food and groceries also increased by 29.5%.
Additionally, food and dining entrepreneurs expressed a desire for F&B startup solutions across various fields such as distribution channel connections (10%), personnel recruitment (9%), and marketing (7%).
Considering these needs, Wecook launched the 'Partner Solution' on the 17th, connecting food and dining entrepreneurs with F&B experts. The Partner Solution consists of services including ▲construction and interior design ▲kitchen equipment ▲menu development ▲design ▲photography styling.
