Jangseong-gun Hosts '71st Anniversary of the Korean War Commemoration Ceremony'
[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong County in Jeonnam announced on the 25th that it held the ‘71st Anniversary Commemoration of the Korean War’ at the 6·25 Veterans Memorial Tower.
The event, hosted by the Jangseong Branch of the Korean War Veterans Association, was attended by about 90 people including veterans, County Governor Yoo Doo-seok, Vice Chairman of Jangseong County Council Ko Jae-jin, and officials from veterans organizations.
The ceremony began with the national salute, followed by awards for veterans, commemorative speeches, and congratulatory addresses.
The county revised its ordinance to provide a bereaved family allowance of 50,000 won per month to the spouses of deceased veterans starting next month.
Additionally, the requirement of ‘residing in Jangseong County for more than one year’ for the payment of veterans and patriotic honor allowances to new residents was abolished, allowing immediate support upon moving in.
