Lee Jae-myung Holds Meeting with Veterans Organization Leaders: "Special Sacrifices Deserve Special Compensation..."
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Lee Jae-myung, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, held a meeting on the 24th with the heads of 11 veterans' organizations, including the Gyeonggi Branch of the Disabled Veterans Association, to commemorate the Month of National Defense and Veterans in June.
At the meeting, Governor Lee emphasized, "We must truly recognize, record, compensate, and honor the special sacrifices made for the whole. (Only then) can people willingly step forward when any national crisis arises in the future."
He added, "Honoring veterans is necessary to protect our community. Although it is regrettable that due to various circumstances we cannot fully meet the expectations of veterans' organizations or merit recipients 100%, Gyeonggi Province is doing its best."
Kim Yong-hwan, Chairman of the Gyeonggi Veterans Organizations Council and Head of the Gyeonggi Branch of the Disabled Veterans Association, responded, "We sincerely thank you for promoting various (veterans) policies every year that enhance the pride and ideals of national merit recipients."

The meeting was attended by the heads of 11 veterans' organization branches in the province, including the Disabled Veterans Association, the Bereaved Families of War Veterans Association, the Widows of War Veterans Association, the Korean War Veterans Association, the Liberation Association, the Meritorious Military Service Association, the Agent Orange Veterans Association, the Vietnam War Veterans Association, the Special Mission Meritorious Association, the April 19 Democratic Revolution Association, and the April 19 Revolution Meritorious Association.
