iMedison Donates Portable Hand Sanitizers to Chosun University
[Asia Economy Honam News Bureau, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Chosun University announced on June 23 that iMedison Co., Ltd., a participating company of the “Ophthalmic Optical Medical Device Globalization Support Project Group” (hereinafter referred to as the Ophthalmic Optical Project Group), has donated 15,000 portable hand sanitizers to ensure the health and safety of Chosun University students.
The donation ceremony was attended by President Min Youngdon, Project Group Director Ko Jaeung, and Health Clinic Director Kim Samcheol.
iMedison is a Gwangju-based company established in 2015 that manufactures quasi-drugs such as contact lens care products.
After donating 5,000 hand sanitizers to Chosun University in July last year, the company has now donated an additional 15,000 units, taking a leading role in local quarantine efforts.
CEO Lee Dongpil stated, “With the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, these are challenging times in many ways. I hope this donation of quarantine supplies helps prevent the spread of infectious diseases in the local community,” adding, “I expect the Chosun University Ophthalmic Optical Project Group to make significant contributions to enabling domestic small and medium-sized ophthalmic optical medical device companies to achieve global competitiveness.”
Meanwhile, the Chosun University Ophthalmic Optical Project Group is receiving a total of 18 billion KRW (8 billion KRW from the national government, 8 billion KRW from Gwangju City, and 2 billion KRW from private investment) in support from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and Gwangju Metropolitan City from 2019 to 2025.
The project group aims to “establish a foundation for the localization of domestic small and medium-sized ophthalmic optical medical device companies to enter the global market.” To this end, it has established a full-cycle support system covering ▲product planning and development ▲product advancement ▲certification and marketing ▲market entry. In addition, a test bed has been completed within the Chosun University College of Medicine for preliminary testing, analysis, and evaluation.
