'Digital Distribution Expo' Held... Discussing Innovation in the Distribution Industry
[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Haeyoung] The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy will hold the "1st Digital Distribution Expo" at COEX, Seoul from the 23rd to the 25th, coinciding with Distribution Innovation Week, to discuss the future vision and innovation directions of the distribution industry.
This event will feature ▲ Digital Distribution Innovation Conference ▲ New Technology Exhibition ▲ E-commerce Pitching Festa ▲ Business consultation sessions for domestic and international buyers, all discussing the future vision and innovation directions of the distribution industry.
Key government officials including Deputy Minister Park Jinkyu of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and Yoon Seongro, Chairman of the 4th Industrial Revolution Committee, members of the National Assembly’s Industry, Trade and Energy Committee Kim Kyungman and Eom Taeyoung, President Jeong Yeonseung of the Korea Distribution Science Association, and executives from Coupang, SSG, Mesh Korea, and Twiny attended together.
In his congratulatory speech at the "Digital Distribution Innovation Conference," Deputy Minister Park emphasized, "Distribution companies must boldly move away from traditional business models and embrace new technologies, service innovations, and infrastructure development." He added, "The government will also actively support expanding product standard data, the foundation of the digital distribution industry, to over 3 million items, and the digitalization of joint logistics centers and development of new technologies for delivery and logistics innovation in small and medium distribution." He further urged, "True innovation in distribution lies in enhancing fundamental social values such as worker safety and health, consumer protection, and eco-friendliness."
