Inspection of COP28-Related Facilities and Special Committee Meeting of Gyeongnam and Jeonnam Provincial Councils
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] The Special Committee for the Joint Hosting of COP28 in the South Coast and South Central Regions, under the Gyeongnam Provincial Council, visited the Yeosu World Expo site on the 21st.
They toured the facilities necessary for hosting COP28 and discussed topics such as strengthening joint hosting activities for COP28 in the South Coast and South Central Regions, as well as discovering policies for the mutual development of Gyeongnam and Jeonnam.
This visit was arranged at the request of Yeosu to inspect COP28-related facilities, including the Yeosu Expo Convention Center, and to discuss concrete implementation plans.
Seong Yeon-seok, chairman of the special committee, stated, "The joint hosting of COP28 in the South Coast and South Central Regions will serve as a symbolic model of East-West harmony and balanced national development," adding, "We will do our best to work together with the Jeonnam Provincial Council for a successful bid as soon as possible."

Meanwhile, the special committee was formed on April 22 to jointly promote the hosting of COP28 in the South Coast and South Central Regions and is engaged in activities such as adopting a joint petition urging the designation of the hosting site with the Jeonnam Provincial Council.
