Gyeongju City, Vaccination Rate at 31.5% ... Expected to Reach 70% by September
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Ju-cheol In] Gyeongju City, Gyeongbuk Province, announced on the 21st that the COVID-19 vaccination rate reached 31.5%.
Out of a population of 252,830, 79,622 people have been vaccinated. Citizens who have completed the second dose total 15,004 (5.93%).
Gyeongju City opened a vaccination center on April 15 and is vaccinating about 4,000 people daily.
By July 2, vaccinations for those aged 75 and older will be completed, and vaccinations will begin for about 2,400 high school seniors and approximately 46,500 people in their 50s.
Subsequently, from mid-August, sequential vaccinations will be conducted for all age groups under 40, aiming to smoothly achieve about 177,000 people (70%) by the end of September and form herd immunity by November.
