Gyeongbuk Province to Administer First Vaccine Dose to 70% of All Residents by September
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jucheol In] Gyeongbuk Province plans to complete the first dose of vaccination for 1.85 million people, which is over 70% of the entire population, by the end of September.
According to Gyeongbuk Province on the 21st, vaccinations for 8,000 people, including those aged 60-74 who missed their vaccinations in June due to increased pre-bookings, will be carried out first in early next month.
Along with this, vaccinations will begin at vaccination centers for 3,000 people including essential social workers under 30 and healthcare workers, based on reservations received.
Reservations will be accepted from midnight on the 28th until 6 p.m. on the 30th, and vaccinations will take place from the 5th to the 17th of next month.
The province will vaccinate 32,000 high school seniors and high school staff with the Pfizer vaccine at vaccination centers starting from the 19th of next month, and 3,000 university entrance exam candidates other than high school seniors will be vaccinated in August.
Vaccinations for 39,000 daycare, kindergarten, elementary and middle school staff and care workers will also begin from the 12th of next month through pre-booking, using Pfizer or Moderna vaccines within the month.
For 345,000 people in their 50s, online pre-booking will be conducted sequentially, and vaccinations will start from those aged 55-59 on the 26th of next month, followed by those aged 50-54.
For 770,000 people aged 40 and below, vaccinations will be given from August in the order of pre-booking for those who wish to be vaccinated.
In the first half of the year, the province conducted vaccinations targeting vulnerable facilities such as nursing hospitals and nursing homes, elderly people aged 60 and above, COVID-19 treatment institutions, and essential social workers, completing the first dose for 863,451 people (32.9% of the population) by the 20th, and the second dose for 228,085 people (8.7% of the population).
