Sancheong-gun Selected for Final Rural Agreement Project... 30 Billion KRW Invested for Balanced Development
Six Areas Including Target Regions... Planned Through 2026
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam Province, is investing a budget of 30 billion KRW, including national funds, to promote regional balanced development and the advancement of living services.
On the 21st, Sancheong-gun announced that it was selected for the '2022 Rural Agreement Public Contest Project' hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, and will carry out various revitalization projects targeting six southern living area myeon (townships).
The Rural Agreement is a system that the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs piloted and has been officially implementing since this year, aiming for the central and local governments to cooperate to establish a '365 living zone' and achieve joint rural policy goals.
The 365 living zone means guaranteeing basic living services such as health and childcare within 30 minutes, complex services such as culture, education, and medical care within 60 minutes, and establishing an emergency response system within 5 minutes.
This agreement is signed directly by the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and the heads of local governments, jointly promoting rural spatial strategic plans and rural living zone revitalization plans established by local governments, aiming to improve rural residential conditions, enhance rural economic vitality, and revitalize local communities.
From next year until 2026, the county will receive 30 billion KRW in national funds over five years to improve residential conditions, boost rural economic vitality, and revitalize local communities in six myeon areas: Sinan, Danseong, Sicheon, Samjang, Saengbiryang, and Sindeung.
Additionally, projects include revitalizing the Sicheon-myeon central area, improving living conditions in vulnerable areas such as Samjang Deokgyo and four other locations, activating the Danseong-myeon basic hub, revitalizing the Sindeung-myeon central area, and strengthening village community capabilities.
The county plans to sign the final agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs this year and begin full-scale project implementation.
