Shilla University (President Kim Chung-seok) announced on the 21st that the basketball club 'Slam Dunk' from the Department of Social Welfare delivered scholarships to their juniors.
'Slam Dunk' donated 880,000 won in scholarships on the 16th to support juniors in the department who are struggling due to COVID-19.
This club is a basketball club composed of graduates and current students of the Department of Social Welfare and has donated scholarships for the second time this year.
Club president and graduate Jang Joo-hyun said, "I started the club while practicing to win the Busan area Social Welfare Department sports competition, and it is already the 15th year, which brings back fresh memories," adding, "Now, I am happy that it has become a fellowship community welcoming juniors through basketball."
Choi Sun-kyung, head of the Department of Social Welfare, praised, "A club that continuously fosters fellowship and supports juniors after graduation is a valuable asset to the department," and said, "The fact that seniors and juniors are together in a place where they can share leisure itself is a place of learning."
She also said, "On behalf of the department, I thank the seniors who delivered scholarships with warm hearts for their juniors."
