At the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly on the 21st, Ahn said, "Song Young-gil, leader of the Democratic Party who mentioned the X-file, should immediately disclose the files that the ruling party and he possess."
He continued, "The concerned party should provide an explanation, and the public and the media should verify the facts. If there are falsehoods or exaggerations in the contents disclosed by Leader Song, he must take political and legal responsibility. Former Prosecutor General Yoon should also explain the contents of the file based on facts and act responsibly according to the results," he emphasized.
The X-file, known to summarize suspicions related to former Prosecutor General Yoon, became controversial when Leader Song said last month, "I am steadily preparing files on numerous cases related to (former Prosecutor General Yoon)." Recently, it has attracted attention as Jang Sung-chul, director of the Gonggam and Nonjaeng Policy Center and a conservative political commentator, reportedly obtained the file.
Ahn criticized, "The ruling party leader’s remarks cannot dispel the reasonable suspicion that they are intended to block and tarnish the political moves of opposition presidential candidates. When someone lights a fire and creates a smell, and political figures related to the issue fan the smell to spread, that is a typical example of political manipulation."
He conveyed that opposition presidential candidates should compete based on their abilities. Ahn said, "One should not have a selfish and simplistic mindset like ‘If a leading candidate gets hurt, I might get an opportunity,’ or ‘If I compete without that person, I can win.’ Opposition supporters, who confirmed through the opposition’s unified candidate process for the Seoul mayoral election that only unity and a single front can win, will not support divisive figures or ‘candidates who think only they are capable’ within the opposition. This must be kept in mind."

Meanwhile, Lee Jun-seok, leader of the People Power Party, also said at the Supreme Council meeting on the same day, "Verification of leading presidential candidates is necessary, but the X-file, which is circulated without content, causes public fatigue and irritation. Those who know the contents of the X-file should hand over any criminal matters to investigative agencies, and if it is a matter of moral criticism, disclose it and be evaluated. Otherwise, it can only be defined as a political manipulation."
