CJ OnStyle Expands Niche Perfume Sales... Launches Woo Bi-gang Limited Edition Perfume
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] CJ OnStyle announced on the 21st that it will expand sales of high-end premium perfumes, so-called 'niche perfumes.'
CJ OnStyle will broadcast the French niche perfume brand 'Ubikang' on the morning of the 23rd. Founded in 1755, Ubikang is the oldest existing perfume, famously used by Marie Antoinette, Napoleon, and Queen Victoria, and received numerous Royal Warrants (British royal certification marks) from 19th-century European royal families.
The 'Quikpleur Extra de Parfum' being sold this time is a rare product with limited annual production, priced in the 1 million KRW range as a limited edition perfume. Also introduced is the limited edition 'Iris Royal Blue Label,' which has high collectible value due to no plans for additional production. The broadcast will offer these perfumes at up to approximately 42% discount, expected to attract the attention of perfume collectors.
Sales of niche perfumes are on the rise. According to CJ OnStyle, the number of perfume items from January to June this year increased by 19% compared to the same period last year, and sales grew by 65% compared to last year. Popular niche perfume brands such as Diptyque, Santa Maria Novella, Byredo, and Acqua di Parma are receiving favorable responses.
