Gwanak-gu - Gwanak Police Station - H Plus Yangji Hospital Sign Agreement to Designate Child Abuse Specialized Medical Institution
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwanak-gu District Office (Mayor Park Jun-hee) signed a "Business Agreement for Designation of a Dedicated Medical Institution for Child Abuse" on the 18th at 5:30 PM at the first floor of Gwanak Office with Seoul Gwanak Police Station (Chief Lee Geon-hwa) and H Plus Yangji Hospital (Chairman Kim Cheol-soo).
The district decided to designate and operate H Plus Yangji Hospital as a dedicated medical institution for child abuse and promised to join forces with Seoul Gwanak Police Station and H Plus Yangji Hospital to establish a prompt and integrated medical support system for abused children, including counseling and physical and mental treatment for child abuse victims.
This agreement mainly focuses on collaboration and joint response among the three institutions for the protection and support of abused children, counseling, physical and mental examinations and treatment, issuance of diagnostic documents, and linkage to medical expense support.
H Plus Yangji Hospital is a general hospital operating 22 departments including emergency medicine and pediatrics, capable of providing prompt and specialized medical treatment and medical consultation for abused children. It also operates a social work team, which is expected to play a significant role in supporting abused children through close communication with the district office and police station.
Meanwhile, since October last year, the district has strengthened response personnel by deploying three dedicated public officials for child abuse investigation publicization. Seoul Gwanak Police Station has expanded the Women and Youth Violence Team to strengthen the dedicated investigation system, establishing a close cooperative system for joint response to child abuse cases.
