Professor Song Chang-young of Gwangju University Appointed as Regulatory Review Committee Member of Ministry of the Interior and Safety
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju University (President Kim Hyukjong) announced on the 18th that Professor Song Changyoung of the Department of Architecture has been appointed as a member of the Disaster Safety Subcommittee of the Regulatory Review Committee of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. The term is two years.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety operates the Regulatory Review Committee to conduct internal reviews on the validity of regulations when the establishment or strengthening of disaster safety-related regulations is necessary, determining the target, scope, and methods of regulation together with experts.
The Regulatory Review Committee of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety is composed of experts in relevant regulations and legal fields appointed by the Minister of the Interior and Safety as members.
Professor Song said, “The Ministry of the Interior and Safety carries out many tasks to lay the foundation for disaster safety policies and to protect the lives and property of the people,” adding, “I will actively work to accurately assess the necessity of regulations and contribute to the promotion of disaster safety policies.”
Recently, Professor Song, who has been actively working as an expert in the field of disaster safety, serves as a central evaluation committee member of the Disaster Management Evaluation Team of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and participates as an evaluation and review committee member for major disaster safety policies in central and local governments as well as public institutions.
