Completion of Medical Device Practical Application Center Construction and Opening Ceremony Held on the 18th
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do has completed the construction of the Medical Device Commercialization Center on the site of the Gimhae Life Science Industry Promotion Institute and held an opening ceremony on the 18th.
The Medical Device Commercialization Center is equipped with spaces for 17 resident companies, 39 types of research and development and production support equipment, and 4 GMP production facilities.
It is expected to serve as a key hub for medical device support within the province.
The province plans to systematically support the entire process from research and development to commercialization of medical devices and medical supplies through the operation of the center.
Additionally, starting this year, a customized support system for companies throughout the entire cycle in the medical device field will be established.

Park Jongwon, Deputy Governor for Economic Affairs of the province, stated, "Since the designation of Gimhae City as the 'Medical, Life Science, and Medical Device Small and Medium Research and Development Special Zone' in September 2019, achievements such as the establishment of research institute companies and transfer of promising technologies have emerged," and emphasized, "The province plans to foster a startup ecosystem in the bio sector and activate collaboration between mid-sized and startup companies to advance the bio industry and attract anchor companies."
