'Busanhang Festival' Opens... Praying for the End of COVID-19 and the Hosting of the 2030 Expo in Busan

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The 14th Busan Port Festival will be held for two days from the 19th to the 20th at the Busan Port International Passenger Terminal and the Yeongdo National Maritime Museum area.
This year's Busan Port Festival will feature ▲Opening Ceremony ▲Busan Port Cinema ▲Drive-in Busan Port ▲Experience Full of Sea (海) ▲Romance Full of Sea (海) ▲Marine Leisure Experiences, among others.
To prevent the spread of COVID-19 and comply with quarantine guidelines, the event will be held with a limited number of participants through a pre-reservation system.
Since reservations began on the 8th via an online booking program, the festival's enthusiasm has been so high that tickets sold out within five minutes.
Among the applicants for the opening ceremony, 26% were visitors from outside Busan, drawing nationwide interest.
At the Busan Port International Passenger Terminal, the opening ceremony will be held on the first day, Saturday the 19th, at 8 p.m. in a drive-in format where attendees enjoy the event from their cars.
Along with congratulatory performances, large balloons symbolizing overcoming COVID-19 and hopes for hosting the 2030 Busan Expo will be released.
On Sunday the 20th at 7:30 p.m., the ‘Busan Port Cinema’ will operate in a drive-in format where families can enjoy movies, with participant numbers limited through pre-reservation this year.
Also, around the Yeongdo National Maritime Museum area, the most popular stamp tour of the Busan Port Festival will take place.
Educational and experiential programs by marine cluster organizations and groups, a marine environment art campaign featuring exhibitions of marine waste artworks by young artists from the Busan area, upcycling craft making, picnic-style performances, busking shows, magic & bubble shows, balloon art, and more will provide enjoyable sights and experiences.
At Suyeongman Yacht Stadium, visitors can experience yacht tours enjoying the beautiful sea views of Busan including Gwangandaegyo Bridge, Dongbaek Island, and Marine City, while at Songdo Marine Leisure Sports Center, marine leisure experience programs such as kayaking for families will be offered.
‘Drive-in Busan Port,’ introducing Busan’s hidden marine tourist spots, will continue not only during the event period but also until the end of June, with excellent participants selected through SNS events and given souvenirs.
