Dobong-gu Selects 100 Carbon Neutral Practice Stores in Our Neighborhood
Visited over 500 village retail stores ▲Checked door-open cooling operation ▲Indoor temperature setting (26~28℃) compliance ▲Participation in 'Reduce Greenhouse Gas by 4 Tons per Person' pledge campaign ▲Eco Mileage enrollment repeatedly checked 3 times... Selected stores' list to be published on the old website in September, 'Carbon Neutral Practice Store' certification sticker issued
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dobong-gu (Mayor Dongjin Lee) is launching a campaign to find 'Our Neighborhood Carbon Neutral Practice Stores' together with the 'Dobong-gu 2050 Carbon Neutral Practice Group,' composed of environmental organizations, in response to the surge in energy usage during the summer months of July and August.
The practice group members will visit about 500 neighborhood retail stores such as convenience stores, laundries, and general stores they usually use, conducting three rounds of inspections on ▲whether air conditioning is operated with doors open ▲whether indoor temperature is appropriately set (26~28℃) ▲participation in the 'Reduce Greenhouse Gas by 4 Tons per Person' pledge campaign ▲and enrollment in the Eco Mileage program.
Participation in the campaign and enrollment in Eco Mileage will be recognized as on-site compliance.
Based on the inspection results, the district plans to select 100 outstanding retail stores as 'Our Neighborhood Carbon Neutral Practice Stores' through a public-private evaluation committee composed of related officials and representatives of environmental organizations.
The selected stores will have their names published on the Dobong-gu website in September, and will receive energy-saving products and stickers certifying them as 'Carbon Neutral Practice Stores' to be displayed at their entrances.
Additionally, Dobong-gu will install QR code stands at retail store cash registers to encourage residents to participate in the 'Reduce Greenhouse Gas by 4 Tons per Person' pledge campaign.

Mayor Dongjin Lee said, “Following last year’s announcement of 103 ‘Our Neighborhood Energy Good Stores,’ I am pleased to be able to inform residents about ‘Our Neighborhood Carbon Neutral Practice Stores’ again this year. In April, the district held the ‘2050 Carbon Neutral Practice All-Resident Resolution Rally’ and is conducting the ‘Reduce Greenhouse Gas by 4 Tons per Person Pledge Campaign,’ so we ask for active participation from all residents.”
