50+ Customized Online Education Content, Enhancing Diverse Educational Participation
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul 50 Plus Foundation will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the National Institute for Lifelong Education on the 18th to promote life transitions and lifelong education participation for the 50+ generation in Seoul.
This agreement was arranged to jointly promote various cooperative projects aimed at enhancing life transitions and lifelong education participation for middle-aged and older adults in Seoul, between the Seoul 50 Plus Foundation, which is implementing comprehensive support policies for the 50+ generation, and the National Institute for Lifelong Education, which operates K-MOOC (Korean Massive Open Online Courses), Korea's representative open online learning platform.
The signing ceremony, held at the Seoul 50 Plus Foundation at 10 a.m. on the day, will be attended by Lee Hae-woo, Acting CEO of the Seoul 50 Plus Foundation, Kang Dae-jung, Director of the National Institute for Lifelong Education, and other officials.
Through this agreement, the two institutions plan to discover and collaborate on various business models necessary to promote life transitions and lifelong education participation for middle-aged and older adults by utilizing the online content and platforms each institution possesses.
As the first cooperative project, K-MOOC content from the National Institute for Lifelong Education will be linked with the Seoul 50 Plus Portal to provide more diverse online educational content to the 50+ generation. The foundation plans to form a ‘50+ Monitoring Group’ to select customized content for middle-aged adults and activate services, supporting various activities such as monthly education monitoring and coordination with the K-MOOC Operations Center.
The two institutions also plan to gradually expand new cooperative projects, including online content exchange, research to strengthen lifelong education, and development of 50+ customized online courses.
