Haman-gun Dementia Relief Center Implements Home-Visit Rest Shelter Service
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] The Haman-gun Dementia Safety Center has been operating a door-to-door visiting rest shelter service for elderly dementia patients since the 1st of this month.
This rest shelter service was established as a one-on-one visiting program to prevent social isolation of elderly dementia patients caused by COVID-19 and to prevent the worsening of dementia symptoms.
The door-to-door visiting rest shelter service involves dementia safety center specialists visiting the homes of elderly dementia patients to provide a total of 8 sessions, once a week for 60 minutes each.
The dementia safety center specialists offer customized programs for elderly dementia patients, including dementia prevention exercises using tablet PCs and cognitive education tools.
The dementia safety center plans to recruit a second group of participants for the door-to-door visiting rest shelter service.
