[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] Former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol stated that he will "not respond at all" to the successive checks from ruling and opposition presidential candidates.
On the 17th, through spokesperson Lee Dong-hoon, Yoon conveyed this intention, saying, "I will just go my own way. I will only do what I have to do." He added, "I will focus solely on big politics that can solve national tasks through national unity," emphasizing again, "I will pursue big politics as directed by the people."
Recently, ruling and opposition presidential candidates have been making remarks that seem to check the leading candidate, former Prosecutor General Yoon. On the same day, former lawmaker Yoo Seung-min pointed out on CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show,' "He hasn't officially declared his entry into politics, but he already has a spokesperson," adding, "It doesn't quite align with our common sense, so I find it puzzling." Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myung, a ruling party candidate, also commented on recent polls showing Yoon ahead of him, saying, "I think the current small trends or turbulence will all pass."
Meanwhile, regarding the timing of Yoon's entry into the People Power Party, he said, "I have nothing more to say." Spokesperson Lee previously stated on CBS Radio that "there are plans to declare political participation in late June or early July."

Regarding Yoon's expression of discomfort toward the ruling and opposition political circles, Lee Jun-seok, leader of the People Power Party, responded, "We try to avoid frequent exposure of disagreements with those who could potentially become our party's or the opposition's presidential candidates." After the party's Supreme Council meeting that morning, Lee told reporters, "Ahead of the presidential election, different thoughts toward a unified opposition candidate may be revealed, but Yoon's actions have been clearly communicated as the public relations team was recently organized," adding, "Our party will also take a clear stance based on that information."
