On the 17th, Hampyeong County in Jeollanam-do announced that it has welcomed an additional 26 amphibians and reptiles of 7 species, including the pet tail gecko and pixie frog, to expand the exhibition species at the Amphibian and Reptile Ecological Park and provide new attractions for tourists.
The newly added pet tail gecko is a lizard characterized by its blunt and plump tail, which stores nutrients to survive in natural environments where food is scarce, living off the nutrients in its tail when food supply is unavailable.
The pixie frog, which grows larger than an adult fist, boasts a voracious appetite and will eat almost anything that fits into its mouth.
Additionally, various animals such as the sandfish skink, which swims underground, and the crested gecko, which can cling to any surface, have been newly exhibited and are waiting for visitors.
