Daegu City Selected as Candidate City for 'Global Mayors Challenge'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Ju-cheol In] Daegu City announced on the 16th that it has been selected as one of the final 50 cities for the 'Global Mayors Challenge' conducted by the Bloomberg Philanthropies in the United States.
It was chosen as one of the 50 cities to create and implement innovative ideas in response to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) pandemic.
Over the next four months, the city will work with Bloomberg innovation experts to refine its ideas to be selected as one of the final 15 winning cities.
If selected as a winning city, it will receive $1 million (approximately 1.1 billion KRW) and technical support from the foundation.

The city received favorable evaluations for proposing a system that allows citizens to participate in the approval process for the use of urban spaces as a concrete policy model to promote urban vitality and creativity after COVID-19, enabling a complex integration of work, life, production, consumption, and play within the city.
