One New Inmate at Suwon Detention Center Tests Positive... Ministry of Justice Quarantines Contacts
[Asia Economy Reporter Baek Kyunghwan] One inmate admitted to Suwon Detention Center has tested positive for COVID-19.
According to the Ministry of Justice on the 16th, one inmate who was legally detained and admitted to Suwon Detention Center the previous day tested positive in a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test.
Accordingly, Suwon Detention Center conducted PCR tests on a total of 30 people, including 23 staff members who had contact or potential contact during the new admission process and 7 other staff members. Among them, 11 tested negative, and the rest are awaiting results.
Additionally, the Ministry of Justice notified related institutions such as Suwon District Court and Suwon District Prosecutors' Office of the confirmed case and decided to minimize dispatches and external medical visits until the epidemiological investigation is completed.
