Mayor Heo Seong-mu Actively Addresses Resident Requests for Jinhae Substation Issues
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] On the 16th, Heo Seong-mu, mayor of Changwon City, visited the Jinhae Substation in Jaeun-dong, Jinhae-gu, and urged the prompt commencement of the substation indoor conversion project.
This visit was arranged to check the progress of the project by Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) after holding the 'Jinhae Substation Indoor Conversion Project Promotion Agreement Ceremony' with KEPCO last November.
The substation indoor conversion project involves demolishing the outdoor steel-frame substation that spoils the urban landscape and replacing it with an urban-type indoor substation.
The total project cost for the indoor conversion of Jinhae Substation is about 24 billion KRW, and it will be constructed as a modern building with one basement floor and three above-ground floors, scheduled for completion in 2023.
The city agreed to promote the substation indoor conversion project through consultations with KEPCO to prepare a solution for the Jinhae Substation. On November 5 last year, an agreement ceremony was held with KEPCO and representatives of Jaeun-dong residents participating.
