Seoul Facilities Corporation is responsible for operating 24 Seoul city projects, including the maintenance and small-scale construction supervision of Seoul's automobile-only roads such as Olympic-daero and Gangbyeonbuk-ro, as well as facilities like Seoul World Cup Stadium and Gocheok Sky Dome.
This agreement aims to enhance systematic safety activities in response to recent industrial accidents and the enforcement of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act. It is expected to strengthen cooperation in overall safety activities, from prevention to accident recovery and improvement of construction quality, and will also help ensure the safety of citizens using the corporation's managed facilities throughout Seoul, including automobile-only roads and cultural and sports facilities.
Through this agreement, both organizations plan to work together to establish a cooperative system for preventing safety accidents, provide emergency recovery and equipment support in case of disasters at corporation-managed facilities, jointly promote the efficient implementation of construction-related regulations, and reduce defects and improve quality in construction projects.
Meanwhile, ahead of the enforcement of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act, Seoul Facilities Corporation is proactively identifying safety and hazard factors that may occur at workplaces to realize the highest value of "securing the safety of citizens and workers."
Currently, about 480 risk factors have been analyzed, and efforts are being made to prevent accidents based on this analysis. Seoul Facilities Corporation plans to divide preventive measures into short-term and mid-to-long-term plans, completing short-term measures within this year, and classifying items requiring budget or time for improvement as mid-to-long-term measures to be resolved gradually over the years.
