Changwon City Successfully Concludes the 3rd Changwon Mayor's National Shooting Competition
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Changwon City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 15th that the 3rd Changwon Mayor's Cup National Shooting Competition concluded successfully.
The competition was held without spectators from the 9th to the 15th to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
A total of 390 teams from nationwide student divisions (excluding elementary school) and general divisions participated in all international competition events (rifle, pistol, shotgun, running target).
As a result, 1 new Korean record, 1 Korean tie, 2 category ties, 3 junior records, 43 competition records, 2 competition ties, totaling 52 records were set.
An official from the Gyeongnam Shooting Federation evaluated that the excellent competition environment at the Changwon International Shooting Range greatly contributed to the athletes' performance in this competition.
In particular, a separate practice match was arranged for national team athletes participating in the Tokyo Olympics.
Held concurrently with next year's national team selection, it served as an opportunity to confirm its growth into a major nationwide shooting competition.
