“Targeting the Japanese Market through Global Network Expansion” CJ ENM Signs Business Agreement with Japan's TBS
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] CJ ENM announced on the 15th that it has signed a business agreement with Japan's terrestrial broadcaster TBS Group for the joint production and business cooperation of global target content including Japan.
Through this business agreement, the two companies will jointly plan, produce, and distribute various genres of content such as dramas, movies, entertainment shows, and animations based on the global content production capabilities and global networks possessed by CJ ENM and TBS Group. They will also jointly promote various projects such as webtoon and comic co-production, offline concert planning, and content format development.
CJ ENM and TBS Group, whose content competitiveness has already been proven in the global market, plan to accelerate the production of content targeting not only Korea and Japan but also the global market. TBS Group is one of Japan's five major terrestrial broadcasters and has produced popular dramas such as "Hanzawa Naoki" and "Nigeru wa Haji da ga Yaku ni Tatsu," which have been remade worldwide, as well as entertainment shows like "SASUKE" and "Fuun! Takeshi Castle."
Choi Jin-hee, Head of Film and Drama at CJ ENM, said, "Through this agreement, the two companies will combine their production capabilities to present various content that resonates globally," adding, "CJ ENM will continue to showcase content aimed at the global market by expanding collaboration with global content partners."
